Welcome to the Dickerson Family Home Page!
Welcome to the members of the Dickerson family. The map on the left shows where we live in Kelsale near Saxmundham in Suffolk, England (click on map to enlarge). On the right is an aerial photo of the village of Kelsale with the red arrow pointing to our garden.

The 1st photo below is an aerial picture of our house, with Charlotte's white Metro (Winifred) in the drive, and the first part of our garden. To see more pictures of our house and garden click here. The 2nd photo below shows the centre of the village of Kelsale with the guildhall and social club. We live just around the corner next to the social club - the left hand building with the van parked outside. The 3rd photo below is of Kelsale Church with its unusual lych gate.

Most of us live in Suffolk, England, and as far as we know most of the family have lived around Ipswich for at least 4 generations. Gail is an artist who lives in Battersea, London, England, and is married to another artist Dilip Sur.
Events in 2002Brontë Isabella Nicholls was born to Bill & Kim Nicholls in Sydney, Australia, on 3 October 2001. Here she is (right) at 1 year old!
Nick is my nephew who is married to Mish and live in Chslehurst, Kent. Below are Whiskey and Guinness looking somewhat started at being about to become globally famous! These photos are here for a limited time only - then they will be transferred to Beans & Tabs' page!

On 15 October we had a flash flood in Kelsale following a short period of torrential rain. The road on the other side of the bridge from our house was completely flooded and Chris Berry's car got 6 inches of water in it! Fortunately our side of the river was not affected as the water was deflected over to the other bank. The brick walls on the other side of the bridge (Harvest house etc) got completely washed away (you can see the rear of my outbuildings on the right hand side of the 3rd picture).

On 14 September I took Charlotte to the University of Kent (at Canterbury) to start her 3-year History degree. Here she is in her room at Darwin College. This is my old College from when I did my PhD at the University of Kent 25 years ago (almost)!

We celebrated Josie's birthday (8 August), Gail's birthday (2 July) and my birthday (14 July) on 3/4 August this year. We went to the Saxon Fayre in Saxmundham, Sutton Hoo and Walberswick, and had a barbecue in the garden. Here are some pictures:

Events in 2001Emily was 19 on 19 February. Her birthday cake was in the shape of 2 hearts!
At the Presentation Evening at Leiston High School on 11 January 2001, Emily was awarded the Heritage Estates Prize for English for her outstanding work at 'A' level, and Charlotte was awarded the St. Margaret's Prize for Religious Education for getting 98% in her GCSE in Religious Education (one of the highest marks in the UK!). Prizes were awarded by David Sheepshanks, Chairman of Ipswich Town Football Club.
Highlights of Xmas 2000
Emily moved to the University of Sussex at Falmer near Brighton at the beginning of October 2000 to do an English and Media honours degree.
Here she is (on the left) in her room in Lewes Court on campus with her new iMac and a cake to celebrate!
Emily is now in her 3rd year at Uni and is sharing a house with 3 friends in Brighton!

Here is the latest addition (not actually a Dickerson!) - Alexander William Nicholls born on 20 October 1999 at the Mater Hospital in Sydney, Australia to Bill & Kim Nicholls.
