Killarney 2000

In August 2000 we visited Killarney in Eire again. It was the first time we had been back to Ireland for many years - since our holidays in Killarney in 1990 and in Ballyferriter (near Dingle) in 1992.

On the way to Ireland we missed the ferry from Pembroke to Rosslare as we had some problems with an overturned lorry on the M25 (my car is the one pointing in the wrong direction in the picture below)! So we took a detour via several of my favourite places such as Gloucester Cathedral, Symonds Yat, the Forest of Dean, and Tenby, and caught the next ferry from Pembroke at 3am the following morning.

We spent a week in a cottage near to Ross Castle. We enjoyed the stillness of the lakes and did lots of walking around the lakes and in the hills.
