My Favourite Places

My favourite places in the British Isles (not necessarily in this order):

• Ballyferriter, The Dingle Peninsula, Ireland

• St Ives & Zennor, Cornwall

• The North Downs between Hollingbourne and Thurnham, Kent
• The Isle of Mull (especially the hills behind the Mornish peninsula - looking out over Coll and the Western Isles and north towards Rhum and Skye)
• Trencrom Hill, Cornwall
• The Isle of Skye (especially the view from Quirang across to the Applecross peninsula and the mountains of Wester Ross)
• Halligye Fogou, Cornwall (great fun)

• Cambridge

• The Lanes, Brighton

• Primrose Hill, London

• Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens, London (especially the Peter Pan statue)

• Beachy Head (Sussex) at night with the lighthouse beam swinging around
• Sheringham Park, Norfolk

• The top of the BT Tower, London - here is the view on a very old slide (1968) and next to it the view in 2003:

• The Tate Gallery, London (especially the lower gallery with the pre-raphaelites)
• Thorpeness Mere

• The seat under the beech trees in my meadow in Kelsale
