In May 2000 I visited the USA partly on business and partly for pleasure. I visited New Jersey, Boston, Washington, San José and San Francisco.
My first visit was to the AT&T Laboratories at Middletown, New Jersey. Then I visited Geoff and Hilary in Boston for the weekend:
Then I visited Washington from 23-25 May to take part in the ANSI Conference on behalf of the EC (spot the squirrel after the Twinkies!):
Finally I flew to San José on 25 May to visit the BT (Concert) Office in San José and the AT&T site at Menlo Park. I stayed in the Fairmont Hotel in San José for 4 days:
On the ferry over San Francisco bay to Sausalito:
I flew back from San Francisco to London on 29 May 2000.
