My Favourite Wormholes

A wormhole is a short cut that leads to somewhere (at least initially) unexpected. In York these are called 'snickelways'.

My favourite wormholes:

Ipswich

It's full of them as it has an Anglo Saxon street plan.

Venice

The whole place is predicated on wormholes - many of them are filled with water!

London

Many in the area south of Oxford Street.

St Ives, Cornwall

Lots of narrow streets and alleyways. You can walk around it for weeks and still not know the quickest way from one beach to another.

Killarney

Newly discovered in 2000 - must go back to explore it again!
